Hedge Trimming and Shrub Care

Discuss routine shaping and shrub care, subject to access, plant condition and safe working arrangements.

WHAT THIS SERVICE COVERS

Routine shape, without unsafe assumptions.

This service concerns accessible, routine trimming of manageable hedges and general care of shrubs, where suitable for the plant and season. It is not tree surgery or a commitment to cut excessively tall, unstable or otherwise hazardous growth.

What we would need to assess

Hedge length, approximate height, plant type, access both sides, nearby structures and growth history affect whether work can be undertaken.

Typical areas of attention

  • Routine side and top trimming for suitable accessible hedges
  • Light shrub shaping where appropriate
  • Tidying selected growth away from paths where agreed
  • Planning around nesting birds and other wildlife

This is a proposed service description. Actual scope and availability must be confirmed before acceptance.

SUITABILITY & FREQUENCY

Garden boundaries and ornamental shrubs.

Accessible domestic boundary hedges and manageable ornamental shrubs may suit routine care. Large trees, high hedges and inaccessible boundaries need specialist evaluation and may not be offered.

Many hedges need attention at specific times; the correct interval depends on species, growth and wildlife. Frequent trimming is not automatically suitable.

BEFORE WE VISIT

Details that help us quote

Share photos, hedge height and length, any neighbouring property boundaries, difficult access and whether you have observed nesting birds or protected wildlife.

Work that risks active nests, protected wildlife, unsafe high-level access or structural damage will not be promised. Specialist tree work is outside the proposed routine service.

Garden waste: Collection, removal and disposal are not assumed to be included. Please request waste arrangements separately in your enquiry.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Common questions about hedge trimming

Outcomes, timings and safe working methods depend on the garden and access arrangements.

Can you cut tall hedges?

Only routine hedges within confirmed safe capability can be considered. Tall or unsafe hedges may require a specialist.

What about nesting birds?

The site and relevant wildlife restrictions must be considered; trimming may need to be postponed or avoided.

Will you remove hedge clippings?

Waste removal is not automatically included and needs a separate arrangement.

Can you reshape a neglected hedge?

Major reductions and restoration may require distinct assessment and are not assumed to be routine trimming.
